A wonderful first meeting of the Qin Society Saigon. After initial personal introductions, we discussed the qin in Tran Dynasty Vietnam, the return in modern times of the qin to Vietnam and the importance of retaining the ancient lore of the guqin, the lore of the literati and the music written for the guqin. We met in a delightful tea house, famous in the guqin community in Saigon, a place where often, in years past, guqin lovers would meet to talk.

The most remarkable assmeblage of teas were provided and we were allowed a room all to ourselves with air conditioning and a very fitting atmosphere. We discussed possible new more permanent locations and our future meetings. Some of the members brought their own guqin instruments to the meeting and we could look at them, evaluate them and try them out. Yin Xiao also brought his guqin with silk strings for the members to experience for themselves. All in all, a really enjoyable and magical evening.
