It's not often that life allows for such seamless marriages of mind and spirit in artistic collaborations, even rarer that these collaborations happen in our professional work. This project—the website, branding, photography, videos, garment design, vinyl record—has been at least four years in the making; we started talking about collaborations almost immediately after meeting in 2018.

From the very beginning, the foundation for this collaboration has been in the principles of Dao. This ancient Chinese way of thinking has been at the root of many hours of conversation and art-making and continues to be an endless source of inspiration for us both. As we publish this site, and Yin Xiao soon releases his first collaborative album under this hao, we move forward into the beginning of a new era: artistically, professionally, personally.

An important petri dish of artistic thinking, Yin Xiao is not only a person and musician but a concept for the nurturing of collaborations on artistic and philosophical thinking, for the bringing into being of meaningful contributions to the world of the arts including that of the ancient lore of the qin. This union of minds is a growing and thriving discourse between people of like thinking for a common and altruistic goal—the generation of art.
